LoJack System Helps Colorado Springs Police Department Recover a Stolen Ford F150

The owners of a Ford F150 pickup truck contacted the Pueblo Police Department and reported that their vehicle had been stolen.

A police officer verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine action on the part of law enforcement automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Later officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen pickup truck with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTCs, these officers tracked the Ford to the area of the 100 block of Westview Place. One suspect has been identified. The truck was recovered for return to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F150 in December 2009 at Heritage Ford in Loveland, Colorado.
