LoJack System Helps Albuquerque Police Department Recover a Stolen Ford F350

Print Friendly

The owner of a 2006 Ford F350 called the Albuquerque Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen. The Ford was just discovered stolen from the area of Tramway and Copper in the Foothills Area Command. The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJackĀ® System concealed in the Ford.

Shortly after the activation, the Albuquerque PD Auto Theft Detectives picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their undercover vehicles. The detectives were just completing their second LoJack recovery of the morning and started tracking this stolen Ford. The detectives determined this Ford was mobile and tracked it until the Ford came to a stop. Detectives located the Ford parked in an apartment complex parking lot in the area of San Pedro and Gibson in the Southeast Area Command.

Detectives elected to set up covert surveillance on the stolen Ford in hopes the offender would return to the vehicle. The offender did not return to the Ford at which time it was recovered. The Ford was processed for evidence and released back to the owner at the recovery scene.

The LoJackĀ® System was installed in the Ford F350 in February 2009 at Spradley Ford Lincoln in Pueblo, Colorado.
