The owners of a 2009 Ford F150 notified the Memphis Police Department that their vehicle had been stolen after they were confronted at their residence and knocked to the ground.

The Memphis PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford F150.

A short time later officers with the New Orleans Police Department while on routine patrol began receiving the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford F150 with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the audible and directional signal the officer tracked the Ford to a residential district in New Orleans. At the time it was located the Ford was mobile and was occupied by two suspects. A felony stop was conducted and both suspects were taken into custody.

The undamaged Ford was impounded for safe keeping until it can be returned to the owner.

The follow up investigation is being conducted by the Memphis PD Airways Precinct General Investigation Bureau in conjunction with the New Orleans PD.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2009 Ford F150 in June 2009 at AutoNation Ford in Memphis, Tennessee.
